Heat pump cooling and heating system with thermal energy storage (HPS with TES) is a combination of renewable energy and energy storage technology, which is conducive to improving the renewable energy utilization rate of buildings and reducing the building energy consumption. By peak load shifting, the system can reduce the operating costs and achieve balanced dispatching of the power grid. Presents the research status of HPS with TES in design optimization, control strategy optimization, testing and evaluation, new energy storage device and equipment, system integrated application, and building flexibility application. Analyses some problems of domestic application of HPS with TES, and proposes the development direction in future building energy systems.
